Common fire pump testing questions
What is a fire pump flow test? A fire pump flow test measures the pressure and flow the pump delivers at churn (no flow), rated flow, and minimum flow (150% of rated). Results are plotted on the manufacturer's pump curve to verify the pump still performs as designed per NFPA 25.
How often does a fire pump need to be tested? NFPA 25 requires weekly churn tests for diesel pumps and monthly for electric pumps, with a full annual flow test by a licensed technician. Oklahoma enforces these intervals through the State Fire Marshal.
Do you repair fire pumps? No. We test and document fire pump performance to NFPA 25. Any deficiencies are reported for your licensed pump contractor to correct.
